mission statement

We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children from 0-12 years of age where we promote:

Optimal health and well being,

Respect for our families, friends, community and environment

Diversity of our children, families, staff and programs.

Equity in all that we do.

Our philosophy is that each child is a unique person whose individuality is to be respected and encouraged. This individuality is fostered through our commitment to creating a community in an inclusive anti-bias environment.  We encourage children to act and think independently and feel good about themselves.  We maintain an open and flexible atmosphere where parents and teachers can establish and maintain positive communication and work together to enhance the childcare experience.

We acknowledge and encourage self-worth in each child by delivering a program that enables children to develop problem solving and social skills, encourages an enjoyment of physical activity and provides opportunities to explore their creativity.

Our vision is to inspire and guide children to become responsible, respectful, and humane citizens. Our centre strives to create a supportive atmosphere that is an extension of home and community.

Family Involvement

Families are encouraged to become involved in the centre in whatever way best suits their interests and schedules.  Families are welcome in the centre at any time to participate in the program with the children and are encouraged to join in on field trips.  The families’ presence and interest helps children feel secure in the centre.  Occasionally, some children are upset when their family members leave at the end of a visit.  When this happens, staff and family members can work together to discover the least disruptive ways for visits to happen.  Visiting of non-custodial parents or other persons must first be arranged with the Site Supervisor.
